Team Kennet Quadkids were back in action at Tilsley Park, Abingdon on Sunday for the first Wessex League match of the season.
The U11 girls’ team was full with 10 athletes competing on the day and top scoring with 786 points. This score puts the U11 girls top of the overall league out of 26 teams.
First up was the Long Jump with Quinn Joyce and Penelope Lyth equal on 3.36m and close behind was Matilda Clare 3.31m and Orlagh Stratford 3.25m. In the sprints Clare flew to the finish line with a fast time of 11.20s. Lyth and O Stratford also under 12 seconds. 600m was a strong event for the girls with Joyce quickest at 1min 59 sec, followed by Lyth 2min 5sec and Clare 2min 7sec. Other strong performances from O Stratford 2min 13sec and Ella McDonald 2min 14sec. Final event was the vortex just in time to miss the rain with Clare leading the team again with a long throw of 26.10m, followed by Elizabeth Wilson 19.901m and Evie Kearney 17.56m. Other athletes taking part Alice Stratford, Izzy Dagan, and Elodie Burdett.
Th U11 Boys team scored well with just 3 taking part including two newcomers Leo Jenkins and Josh Bailey. In the long jump Leo Jenkins leaped 3.27m to score well and also ran quickest for TK in the 75m sprint with a time of 12.20s. In the 600m the boys all ran well with only 10 seconds to separate them with Jenkins finishing ahead with 2min 18s. Last up was the vortex throw with Joshua Kuijten throwing the furthest with 26.24m.
