Covering the area of Newbury and Thatcham
Team Kennet caters for all levels of ability in the sports of Athletics and Triathlon including: track & field and sportshall athletics, cross country, running, cycling and swimming for triathlon and other multi sport events such as Biathlon and Duathlon, in the West Berkshire Area.
All athletes aged from eight to veteran are welcome to join the club, train with us and compete in the various leagues, team and individual competitions in which we take part. The club is based in West Berkshire at Park House School and Sports College and trains at a number of venues in and around Newbury and Thatcham. The newly refurbished and recently opened Crookham Common athletics track is the most recent and significant addition to our training facilities.
The current membership of the club is around 500 with an age range of 60 years. Team Kennet was one of the first clubs in England to achieve the Clubmark accreditation for Athletics and, following the 2008 review, the Club was highly commended for its support of events for local schools and the development of its volunteer coaches and helpers network.
