The Mad Mile caters for all ages and abilities. It is just over 4 laps of the track and it’s as serious as you want it to be. The idea is for those of you who are training hard or just keeping fit to have ago and see how much you can improve over the summer.
The event has been named the Comely Mad Mile in memory of Alex Comely (Big Boy) who died in February 2008.
The dates for this year’s races will be
Wednesday 21st April at Crookham Track Results
Wednesday 26th May at Park House School Results
Wednesday 23rd June at Park House School Results
Wednesday 21st July at Crookham Track Results
Wednesday 8th September at Crookham Track *** New date ***
The races will start at 7.10pm. Training sessions will end at 7pm on race nights to allow coaches and helpers time to either warm up for the race if running or to help setting up if not.
You do not have to be a club member to compete and parents/relatives are positively encouraged to take part. There will be a number of awards at the end of the season. These will be dependant on the numbers taking part but to qualify you need to complete 3 of the races.
Click Here to view the Top 50 rankings from the TK Mad Mile (as at 22nd July 2010). Because of the large number of reported timing issues with the April 2010 race, the times from that race have been ignored in preparing the rankings.
