Team Kennet Junior Cross Country 2024-25
The cross-country season for juniors (aged between 7 and 16 on 31st August 2024) will be starting on 24thNovember. Team Kennet juniors run in the Basingstoke Junior Cross Country League. The league has four matches and these will take place on the dates shown below: also the club run the cross country TK league from this match for juniors.

Typical start times and distances for the various age groups are listed below.
Timetable for 2024-25, (subject to review)
Under 9 Girls 1:00 pm 1400m approx.
Under 9 Boys 1:15 pm 1400m approx.
Under 11 Girls 1:30 pm 2200m approx..
Under 11 Boys 1:45 pm 2200m approx..
Under 13 Girls 2:05 pm 3000m approx..
Under 13 Boys 2:20 pm 3000m approx..
Under 15/17 Girls/Boys 2:35 pm 4000m approx.
Race age group determined by age on 31st August 2023, minimum age 7 years on this date. Athletes in older age groups under 17 upwards (u17 can do both leagues) will run in the Oxford Mail league, please contact Simon Gale for further information.
We are hosting the 24th November 2024 event, more details nearer the time but we will be looking for marshals, etc.
(If any athlete has achieved a county athletics association vest for 800m or greater by 1st September prior to start of cross-country season they will not be permitted to run as a scoring athlete but may run as a guest. This does not apply to junior athletes who have run in the English Schools’ Cross-Country Championship).

These events are for senior men and ladies and athletes in the under 17 age group
We will need to provide a marshal for some of these races. If as a parent, you would be willing to help out as a marshal, we would be more than willing to enter your junior in the race series
League is also open to 2nd claim runners from Compton Harriers
This years races will be chip timed
