Open Meetings

Team Kennet Juniors Athletes have been out in force over the last two weekends at Various Open track and Field Meetings around the South getting ready for League matches.

At Bournemouth Noah Lauder-Clarke threw a massive throw in the under 13 Boys Javelin of 30.83 to win Gold but to take him to an early lead in UK Rankings, his little brother Seb Lauder-Clarke took part in the u11s 75m where he clocked 13.7.

At Bracknell Open TK Juniors secured several medals, Seb Simpson in the under 17 age group won the Discus 36.90 (UK no. 2) and Shot 11.75 and he had to settle for 2nd in the Hammer with a p.b. with 49.01 taking him to UK number 5.

Clare McGonnell now moved up to under 17 threw 31.59 for Silver in the Javelin and came 5th in her heat of the 300m 47.0.

Emerald Hil Sawyer left off from her indoor season to secure a Bronze in the 600m 1.52.8 in the under 13 girls, she also took part in the 75m 10.9 and 150m 22.35 just outside the medals.

In the same Age group Ella Cronk won her High Jump for Gold 1.23, she took part in the Long Jump 3.44 and 600m 2.08.3.

Ben Daley threw 23.32 in the under 13 Boys Javelin for 2nd place and a early top 10 UK ranking, he was 8th in the 1200m 4.32.7, in the same age group Luke Stiles was 5th in the Long Jump 3.69 and clocked 2.09 in the 600m, Harry smith was 5thin the 1200m in 4.24.3

Another Bronze came in the Javelin with Josh Ladds throwing 18.75 and clocking 10.9 in the 75m, Lestyn Thomas also took part in the 600m 2.23 and 75m 12.96.

In the under 15 age groups Will McDonald earned a Bronze in the Javelin 28.41 and threw 16.06 in the Discus, James Simmons clocked a p.b. in the 200m 27.6 and clocked a fast 12.8 in the 100m, Evie Lewis came 3rd in the Discus 20.98 and 5th in the Shot 7.00, Amber Stiles earned herself a p.b. in the High Jump but had to settle for 4th place on count back, she also ran in the 800m 2.47.0.

In the under 11 age groups no medal were won but some early good performances in the 75m Penelope Lyth clocked 11.98, Isla Ladds 12.4 and Elizabeth Wilson 12.5, in the 150m Ladds clocked 24.88, Wilson 24.6 and Ella McDonald 26.9, also in the 600m Lyth ran 2.13.4 and Wilson 2.20.0.

The Basingstoke Open saw more medals, Seb Simpson in the under 17s took 3 golds to his name, Hammer 40.43, Shot 11.81 and Discus 37.10.

Penelope Lyth took part in the under 11s and came back with 3 medals, she stole the show in the long jump 3.45, came 2nd in the 600m 2.04.69 both events gaining p.b.s and a Bronze in the 75m 12.30, Eliska Simpson got a Silver in the Discus 22.12, in the same event Evie Lewis got a bronze 18.47 and Suki Humphrey 5th with 15.35, Humphrey matched the placing in the Shot with 7.40.

Charlotte Bailey took part in the under girls 800m with a new p.b. of 2.40.97.

Another two personal bests came in the 1500m races, Isaac Mitcham in the u17 age group clocked 4.43.85 for 4th place and a Bronze came from Lola Mitcham in u15 age group clocking 5.57.8.

At Winchester Open Under 11 Quinn Joyce ran in the 600m clocking a new best time of 2.00.4 to win her Race and fastest of the day, she also clocked 12.5 in the 75m for 5th fastest.

In the under 13 age groups Ella Cronk cleared 1.25 in the High Jump for a new best height and later ran 2.5 in the 800m, Luke Stiles also ran in same race clocking 3.02.

Amber Stiles cleared 1.30 in the under 15 high jump, and parents Jonjo Stiles broke the clubs vet 45 record in the 3000m with a time of 10.45.99, wife Martine also broke the clubs vet 40 women’s record12.34.14

Abingdon Open was a little busier of TK athletes, it was the throwers who went, Luke Angell winning the Javelin 55.62, in the Discus event Turkay Altuntas won u15 age group throwing 29.18, Evie Lewis u15 winning the Girls 18.77 and Suki Humphrey coming 3rd 17.68, under 17 age group Joseph Hoaen threw 22.46 and Senior Athlete Harry Booker 30.34 and Cheryl Angell vet 55 12.24

The shot Altuntas threw 9.08 for another Gold medal, Evie Lewis 6.60 and Cheryl Angell 6.25.
