Team Kennet were in action in the second round of the Destination Basingstoke Junior Cross Country League held at Rushmoor in Aldershot over a muddy course in woodland on a damp winters day but mild for the Athletes.

The under 9 Girls were first off and they produced another winning team performance, not quite like last match but took the first three places, Maisie McCurtin won her first ever cross country by over 11 seconds from the Stratford Twins, Alice coming home in 2^nd place and Orlagh taking third place, Matilda Saunders was 5^th place making up the A team, The B team were second on the day, Elodie Burdett leading them in with 7^th, Evie Kearney 8^th, Megan Jones 9^th and Sophia Barnett 13^th, Jasmine Hemmings also took part coming 17^th.

This win for the girls almost secures now a league overall win to retain their own title.

The under 9 boys did well too, they finished 2^nd team on the day to keep them in contention of league title, Joshua Kuijten was clubs first runner home in 5^th place, followed by Gethin Thomas 10^th then Seb Lauder-Clarke 16^th and Jacob Williams 23^rd. other runners were Max Burt 24^th, Alex Cameron 27^th.

The under 11 Girls came 3^rd team on the day, Quinn Joyce had a battle to get in to the top 3, but had to settle for 4^th place by just one second, with Harriet Saunders 6^th, Penelope Lyth 9^th and Matilda Clare 11^th  only 4 points separated top 3 teams. Penelope Gorbold was 30^th, Rose Bell 33^rd and Ella McDonald 37^th other club runners.

The under 11 Boys also had to settle for 3^rd place, Harry Smith just got the better of Euan Jones for 10^th and 11th places, Luke Stiles was 13^th and William Devall 14^th for a good packing team, Elliot Bell led the B team home in 15^th, Henry Bell 17^th, Ben Doherty 28^th and Samuel Atkins 38^th , the C team was led by Josh Bailey 39^th, Lestyn Thomas 45^th and Alfie Cronk 50^th.

The under 13 Girls managed to claim 2^nd place team this match, Amber Stiles was first home for the club in 6^th place followed closely by Charlotte Bailey 7^th, Emerald Hill-Sawyer was 13^th and Chloe O’Reardon 15^th, other runners were Iris Bloomfield 16^th, Ella Cronk 17^th, Lola Mitcham 18^th and Mia Kearney 19^th for the B team.

The under 13 Boys were placed 4^th team led by Aaron Carter 13^th, Ben Daley 15^th, Noah luader-Clarke 19^th and Marlowe Barber 21^st, Frank Edward led the B team in 26^th, Harry Barnett 29^th and Reuben Kuijten 35^th.

Alanna Smith came home as 2^nd under 17 women and in the under 15 boys Ethan Kuijten was placed 6^th.

Team Kennet had a fairly good turnout at the First Oxford Cross Country League held at Newbury Showground on Sunday.

The Under Mens and Womens race is combined, Isaac Mitcham was 23^rd and Olivia Smith 15^th in their categories.

The Senior Womens race Sue Francis came 34^th and Katie Reynolds 105^th

The Senior Mens David Hamill was clubs first runner home in 90^th followed by Andy Colling in 120^th, next home was Stephen Field 205^th then Mitch Poustie 230^th, Simon Hockaday 269^th and Simon Gale 282nd.

Team Kennet Juniors came out in force in their first Basingstoke Destination League match of the season that saw a record number of 60 Youngsters turn out.

The Round 1 match was held in Basingstoke over an undulated and twisting course with a few inclines thrown in. The conditions were brilliant for the course, the first race the Under 9 Girls saw 10 TK girls line up, and it was a successful race for them, as Team Kennet took the first 7 places and taking the top 3 team places overall.

In the race Orlagh Stratford led from the gun to then be joined by race winner Ella Larkin in the final 200m, Orlagh had to settle for second place, Maisie McCurtin took third place with a strong finish.

The Girls packed in well with Alice Stratford 4^th, Matilda Saunders 5^th, Evie Kearney 6^th and Elodie Burdett 7^th further down the field Sophie Barnett was 13^th, Eveleyn Barker 14^th and Jasmine Hemmings 18^th.

The under 9 Boys team came 3^rd overall with B team 7^th, in a big field of over 30.

Gethin Thomas led the way in 6^th place with Joshua Kuijten 7^th, Seb Lauder-Clarke 17^th and making up the A team was Xander Cameron 21^st.

The B team was led home by Jacob Williams 22^nd, Max Burt 25^th

The under 11 Girls finished 3^rd and 7^th in the team scores, Harriet Saunders led the TK Vests home in 5^th place with a strong finish, Ella McDonald was next home in 9^th followed by Quinn Joyce 12^th and Matilda Clare 14^th, the B team was led by Penelope Lyth in 17^th, Elora Murray 37^th, Penelope Gorbold 39^th and Rose Bell 44^th in a field of over 50 runners.

The under 11 boys had the biggest field of the day with over 60 runners, Team Kennet A team finished 2^nd place behind a strong Aldershot squad, The Yellow vest packed well with Oscar Larkin first home for the club in 6^th place, then Ben Doherty 8^th, Harry Smith 10^th and Euan Jones 11^th, the B team came 5^th overall with Malik Gaye leading them home in 12^th place, Luke Stiles 18^th, William Devall 24^th and Ronny Bowsher 27^th. The C Team came 10^th overall Henry Bell 29^th, Samuel Atkins 30^th, Rudy Bowsher 32^nd and Josh Bailey 43^rd. it was a great turnout from the club in this age group with Lestyn Thomas 49^th and Alfie Cronk 57^th making up the rest of the club athletes.

The under 13 Girls also had a strong turnout, a battle close to the front from Amber Stiles 4^th and Charlotte Bailey 5^th helped the A Team finish 2^nd place behind the hosts, Emerald Hill-Sawyer was 13^th and Anna Hall 15^th.

The B team was led by Chloe O’Reardon 19^th Amelie Disley 21^st, Lola Mitcham 26^th and Ella Cronk 27^th, and Mia Kearney 28^th. For the B team to finish 6^th

The under 13 Boys A team came 3^rd, Aaron Carter was clubs first runner home in 10^th, Ben Daley  14^th, Noah Lauder-Clarke 17^th and Frank Edwards 20^th making up the team, the B team were 7^th led by Harry Barnett 21^st, Charlie Adams 22^nd, Marlowe Barber 23^rd and Reuben Kuijten 29^th, other runners were Flynn Murray 30^th

The under 15/17 Girls combined race saw Alanna Smith finish 7^th overall and Camille Farrington 12^th

The under 15/17 boys combined race Ethan Kuijten was 9^th and Max Adams 10^th

Both teams coming 4^th place
