Team Kennet Athletics & Triathlon Club

Covering the area of Newbury and Thatcham

Team Kennet caters for all levels of ability in the sports of Athletics and Triathlon including: track & field and sportshall athletics, cross country, road running, triathlon and other multi sport events such as Biathlon and Duathlon, in the West Berkshire Area. The club operates as a voluntary non for profit club, and is suitable for Juniors from 7 to Senior/Veterans of any age.

AGM – The next AGM will take place Monday 10th February 2025 7:30pm at CCAT. Fully paid members are able to attend if they wish.

Wednesday Training

Team Kennet Winter Training 2024/25 – Important details

We have secured Park House School indoor Sportshall for Wednesdays

From November 6th to December 11th(Dec 18th all at CCAT)

January 8th up to February 12th(no club training 19th February)

All back at CCAT from February 26th

All Primary School Children, and up to year 7 can train in the Sportshall

Rest of the age groups u15/u17 and u20s including siblings in school year 6 & 7 you will be training at CCAT as normal. (year 6 and 7s you have the choice)

Both training venues will start 6pm and finish 7.20pm

(if training outdoors please make sure you have correct clothing required)

Outdoor Training on Wednesday will be covered in these areas

Sprint Training, Middle Distance Training, One Throw (Shot or Discus),

Long Jump and High Jump – all subject to the weather conditions.

Indoor Training we are looking at taking squads of u11, u13 and u15 to the Berkshire Indoor Sportshall Championships and will be working on events for these Championships, so we do encourage all Primary school athletes to attend the indoors.

If this session has to be cancelled due to bad weather will be posted on TK Facebook and Website.

Waiting Lists for Primary School Age Juniors

We have reached capacity for the younger age groups and we are now running waiting lists for the Under 9 and Under 11s. These can be seen here. Some places remain for older juniors.

Helpers Needed

The club needs additional helpers for the main junior club night on Wednesdays. Training will be given. Please speak to Nick Bull if you are interested. For courses to become a qualified coach please see the coaching page
