Junior Triathlon
A Triathlon is a combination of Swimming, Cycling and Running to make one continuous race. The swim comes first and is followed by the cycle then the run. It is a non-stop race so any time you spend between the end of your swim and the start of your run is included in your overall time. Some basic advice on triathlon can be found here.
The swim can take place in a pool or sometimes open water (a lake). The cycle for juniors (U15) will always take place on a course closed to traffic, sometimes a road but more often a field. The run will again be on a closed course normally a grass course.
To compete you need to be a member of the British Triathlon Federation, however you can race with day membership which is arranged with the event organizer.
