Team Kennets Nite of the Mad Miles took part on another glorious summer evening after the club night, temperatures still at 25 degrees and light breeze insured some very fast times in its 24th year of the event.
The First Race was the biggest field of all the 5 races the Under 9 and under 11 Girls which saw Praiya Forman take the lead and step by step slowly increased her advantage over the 4 laps to win with 5min and 40 seconds which equals All Time fastest time, 2nd home was Matilda Saunders in 6.04 and third place went to Olivia Kwit in 6.06 in which was a close finish for the minor medals. The first under 9 girl home was Flow Randall who came 8th overall in 7.22
Next up was the under 9/11 Boys Chester Bailey went out like a rocket which he sustained to take a great win by 200m, clocking fastest time in this age group to go All Time number 1 with 5.24, 2nd place went to Matthew Jones 6.03 and 3rd place to Idris Gaye 6.32
The Under 13/15 Girls were up next, Olivia Bentley took over the lead halfway through the third lap to take a superb win in 5.27 which ranked her 2nd in the all time list, 3rd home was Tilly Clare u13 in 5.59 with Penelope Lyth in third place 6.02 another u13.
Race 4 achieved another all time 2nd fastest time, Harry Smith went out from the gun to win in a fast 5.08, Frank Edwards trying to hang on got a really good time of 5.30 for 2nd place and third place went to Matais Manrique-Hueglas in 5.44
Race 5 is combined with Senior athletes male and female.
in the Ladies race it was a close finish on the line with mum and daughter, it was u17 Amber Stiles who took it on the line 6.54 and Martine Stiles 6.55 taking 2nd, with Juli Gaye in third place 7.30.
In the Mens race Bart Kuijten went out from the gun to win clocking 5.11 as a vet, Chris Turner taking 2nd place 5.59 and Ben Schiffer-Harte in third place 6.34
Most Improved athlete from last year went to under 11 Olivia Kwit who knocked of nearly 90 seconds
