Team Kennet bagged a huge amount of medals at the recent Berkshire Track & Field Championships held at Palmer Park in Reading that saw over 30 athletes from the club attend.
A total of 13 gold medals were won from u13s to Senior Athletes, Luke Angell won his Senior Javelin title which he has held for over 10 years throwing 59.17m, in the under 20 age group Oliver Ford won both the Discus 38.31 and Shot 12.66. Team mate Seb Simpson in the under 17s won a hattrick of medals in the Hammer 49.39, Discus 36.71 and Shot 12.24.
In the under 15 age groups Will McDonald threw the Javelin 31m to hit gold, while in the Discus Turkay Altunas struck his first county title throwing 28.82 and then winning the Shot with 10.47, Evie Lewis made sure she won a gold in the girls Discus throwing 23.8.
The under 13s also won Gold Medals and the highlight was in the Javelin where Team Kennet Boys achieved a 1-2-3-4, Noah Lauder-Clark taking victory with 30.14, Ben Daley taking Silver 24.57, Euan Jones the Bronze 23.77 and Josh Ladds 21.05, Ben Daley won the Shot with 6.47.
There were quite a few silvers won in the Senior mens Discus by Harry booker 30.36 and Under 17mens James Fenner in the Javelin 42.80, The under 15 Girls Amber Stiles cleared 1.40 for Silver in the High Jump, Ethan Kuijten clocked a fast 10.14 in the 3000m for 2nd place, and Eliska Simpson threw Discus for 2nd place 23.53. Silver medal also went to Lottie Absolom in the u20 women’s Shot 9.85.
In the under 13 age group more silvers came from Ella Cronk in the High Jump 1.20.
Bronze Medals were won by Ben Daley in the Long Jump 3.77, Charlotte Bailey in the under 15 high jump 1.30 and the 3000m clocking 11.59.4, Zoe Dickson in the Javelin 16.22 and finally Eliska Simpson in the Hammer 21.10.
Zoe Allen took part in the Somerset Champs winning a gold in the u17 women Shot 10.53 and coming 2nd for silvers in the 80m hurdles 14.3 and Javelin 31.80.
