SAL Match 2

Team Kennet were in action in the second round of the Southern Athletics League on Sunday at Swindon, a six team match saw the TK team come 5th in what was a close and very competitive match

There were some great wins on the day, in the Discus for the women a Double win came from Sophie Wheadon breaking her club record with 33.52 and Alisha Bradford 23.09, Anna Montagne won her High Jump with 1.55 and Georgina Thomson winning her B string 1.35.

Phoebe Hoaen won her Javelin with a good throw of 38.28 and in the Shot Sophie Wheadon won her B string with 9.45 while Club Captain Hayley Steward for once had to settle for 2nd place in the A string with 11.19.
Alisha Bradford settled for 2nd B string in the Hammer 28.70 and A string Charlotte Booker came 4th with 28.88 in a high standard competition.
On the Track for the women best result came in the 1500m steeplechase Izzy Hole coming in 2nd with 5.47 and a win coming from Georgina Thomson just over 6mins in the B string, Twin Sister Rebecca won the B string 400m hurdles in 77.0 and Georgina had to settle for 6th in the A string running just over 80 seconds.

The Womens 400m Anna Montagne came in 3rd in 60.5 and Caitlin Nowell running in the B string came 2nd with 65.44, elsewhere for the women in the sprints Issy Kerslake and Ellie Kerslake competed in the league for the first time both Coming 4th with 13.8 and 14.2, new comer Faye Saunderson (u17) clocked an impressive 13.2 in the non scoring. The 4 x100m relay saw the TK Yellows come home in 2nd place with 54.13 team made up of both Kerslakes, Amy Russell and Saunderson.

The Mens side a superb Double win came in the Triple Jump Peter Saunders 12.22 and Oliver Bazin 11.55, Saunders then competed in the Long Jump to take 2nd place in A string 6.01 and a B win from Joe Osler 5.92, Osler earlier won the High Jump with 1.78 ND Hary Booker 3rd B string 1.58, best throws result was the Javelin Luke Angell coming 2nd with 53.68 and Saunders 3rd B string 33.76. On the track Stuart Bladon was the only track winner in the B string 400m clocking 53.06 in the A string Ethan Haines came 5th in 55.6
The Mens 4 x 100m team came a close 3rd place clocking 46.9 from Bladon, Saunders, Daniel Hockaday and Osler.

This match saw 4 x 400m mixed relay teams, both teams came home in 5th place the A team clocking 4.01.43 from Haines, Montagne, Nowell and Bazin and the B team clocking 4.26.3 made up of both Thomson twins, Harry Booker and Hockaday.
