Yasmin Ryder and Georgina Bradford took Gold and Silver in the u15 girls 1500m race, Ryder took full control from the gun to come home in 4.59.67 winning her first major title with Georgina keeping the main pack just behind her with a superb run in 5.09.18 to bring in the silver on day 3.

Day 2 saw a great under 17 womens shot competition with Izzy McHattie leading into the last round only to be edged down in to bronze by just 9cm, her throw set a new club record with 10.77.

Oliver Cooper made his indoor debut for the club in the under 17 mens triple jump, he set a new indoor club record of 12.08 for 5th place. On day 2 Georgina Bradford just missed the 800m final by one place, she came 2nd in her heat with 2.29.41 again setting a new club indoor record while Carys Cox ran a superb race clocking a fast time of 2.35.93 for 5th place in her heat.

After last weeks success Millie Calkin started off well in the u15 girls 200, she won her first round in 27.57 then in the semi finals clocked anther fast time of 27.43 for third place not enough to go through to the final but another club record. Calkin managed 5th in her 60m sprint in 8.66 and only managed 10th place in the long jump with 4.59

Under 17 Yolanda Nicholson came 2nd in her 60m heat in 8.06 and came 3rd in the semi final in 8.08 again just missing out in the final, her long jump was a much below par of 4.79 for 9th place. All her winter hard training paid off as she was second in her heat and just beaten in the final by the same girl. it was a Photo finish for 1,2 & 3.

1st – Isio Orogun - 43.79 - Dartford Harriers AC
2nd -Millie Calkin - 43.82 - Team Kennet AC
3rd – Rosa Prideaux - 43.84 - Chelmsford AC

It was a great race. Bit difficult to get used to running the first 200 in lanes and then breaking into inside lane for last 100m. Millie was just in second after the break and tried to take the winner on the bend but she just held her off. As you can see 5 100ths of a second between 1st, 2nd & 3rd, one of the closest races ever at the championships.

Team Kennet had other athletes taking part on day 1. In the u17 mens 400m Samuel Randall eased through to the final as he won his heat in 52.6 but could only managed 5th in the final with a slower time. Luke Conway ran a fast 800m in his heat of the under 20 800m in 2.01.96 for second, but still wasnt quick enough to reach the final. Justin Lakey took part in the Senior mens high jump to finish 6th with 1.85 his first competition for over 6 months.
