			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Micheal Randall was the clubs highest placed in the Berkshire Schools cross country at Wellington Country Park finishing in 3rd place in the u19s race with Luke Conway in 7th place. both will represent the county. Nathan Gillis came home in 5th place in the u17 mens race with Alex Hanson 14th and Daniel Collis 33rd.</p>
<p>The u13 girls race saw a much improved in confidence Susie Drake in 6th place with Imogen Harding having an excellent race in 15th, Chloe Jones 48th and Carli Nicholls 73rd while in the u15 girls Chloe Scaplehorn was 18th, with Amelia Wenlock 21st Alex Maughan 35th, Kirsty Bennet 36th, Keren gillis 40th and Harriet Allan 47th.</p>
<p>The u17 women Rhea Walter had a good run in 12th place with Emma Seymour 27th and Becca Allan 47th. The under 15 boys saw Jordan Hole come in 29th with Rohan Morris-Loughlin 31st and Alex Davis 63rd and the Under 13 boys saw Jacques  Chapel in 27th place. Lexi Fellows took part in the Wiltshire Schools and came in an excellent 4th place in u13 girls race</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p> Team Kennet members James McLaughlin, Sammy Hart, and new members Warwick Buckland, and Oliver Shakespeare were in action at the weekend at the first of four national schools biathlon semi-finals.  This took place at the University of Bath on Sunday 22 January.</p>
<p>In the year 5 boys the best result came from James McLaughlin who was 5<sup>th</sup> overall, qualifying for the national final and receiving his trophy from Kate Allenby, bronze medalist in the modern pentathlon at Sydney.  Warwick Buckland came 40 and Oliver Shakespeare was 42. </p>
<p>Sammy Hart came 10<sup>th</sup> in the year 6 boys, and hopefully will progress as well to the national final as one of the top 64 ranking competitors.</p>

<p>The event was dominated by Falkland school who came out overall winners, and also took the B team trophy as well. Bradfield took overall runners up with Spurcroft in third place, in the B team event Hermitage came through to take second with Spurcroft matching their A team in third. </p>
<p>The best field event athlete awards went to Toby Holland from Francis Baily school for jumping 6.80m in the triple jump , and in the Girls it went to Darcey Flemming from Brightwalton school in the long jump leaping to 2.00m also beating all the boys.</p>
<p>Falkland will go onto the Berkshire finals early in the new year againest 8 other schools who won their areas. Woolhampton school won the east  side of west berkshire on tuesday and will also take part in the finals.<a href="http://teamkennet.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Falkland-Winners.jpg"></a></p>

Izzy who is coached by Stan Chambers said she was delighted with this and it will be a good boost for the rest of the Team Kennet throws group who are exceeding all their goals this summer.</p>
<p>On the track Samuel Randall also travelled to Gateshead for the inter boys 400m where he came 2nd in his heat 50.19, but came 4th in the semi finals in 49.99 which wasn&#8217;t quick enough to progress to the finals</p>

<p>Team Kennet Athletes represented their schools on Saturday in the Berkshire Schools hoping to gain selection for the English Schools to be held at Gateshead.</p>
<p>The Club athletes were in real form with 75% of West Berkshire athletes coming from Team Kennet, A total of 7 athletes were crowned Berkshire Schools Champions, with one breaking the Berkshire Championship Record, Izzy Mchattie throwing the Javelin 38.01 and gaining a place at the English Schools in the u15s. In the same age group Josh Willock produced his best race of his life to win the 200 in 23.7. In the u17s Sam Randall has been selected by winning his 400m in 49.7, other winners in the same age group were Yolanda Nicholson in the long jump 5.22, Freya Eaton 300m hurdles 47.4, Codie Burnett 300m 44.0 and Alex Roue in the 200m 23.8.</p>

<p>There were a lot of runners up as well which really shows the strength of the club. Iin the u15s Yasmin Ryder got the qualifying time in the 1500m with 4.49.3, Georgina Bradford in the 800m 2.24.9 and Millie Calkin in the 200m 27.1, while Nathan Gillis smashed his best time in the 1500m 4.34.3. In the u17s Jack Hatton clocked 14.1 in the 100m hurdles, Luke Angell smashed his best distance in the Javelin with 48.51m and in the u19s Arland Craik came 2nd in the 100m 11.8</p>
<p>To cap this there were several third places as well Sarah Saunders in the u15 100m 13.1, in the u17s Peter Saunders long jump 6.03, Alishia Bradford Discus 27.63, Kitty Brockbank javelin 26.88, Brandy Funderberk 100m 13.2 and in the u19s Luke Conway 800m 1.56.5 smashing his best.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Team Kennet athletes were in action for their schools on 8th June in the West Berkshire Schools District Under 13 Athletics Championships at Palmer Park, Reading.</p>
<p>For the boys, Jamie Killner, Adam Conway and Mitchell Tate were part of the winning Kennet School team. Jamie won the Hurdles in 14.79s and Adam won the javelin with 26.44m. Jamie and Mitchell both helped the relay team to a win and also came 3rd and 4th in the long jump with jumps of 3.88m and 3.86m. Jordan Hole of St Barts came 2nd in the 1000m in 3.25.15 followed by Piers Oliphant of Downs in 3.26.08. Mitchell also came 5th in 75m with 11.07 and Jordan came 4th in the High Jump with 1.20m.</p>
<p>For the girls, Natasha Roue of Downs School came 2nd in the 75m with 11.07, Carys Cox of Park House came 2nd in the 100m with 3.28.66 with Chloe Legg of St Barts 4th in 3.46.58 and Hannah Bousfiled of St Barts came 2nd in the Discus with 15.54.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Newbury Schools area Athletics Championships took place last week at Palmer Park in Reading. the top 2 from each event go forward to the Berkshire Schools finals where they will try to win and get the English Schools qualifying time.</p>
<p>Team Kennet athletes representing their schools had several top 3 places. In the u17 girls the 75m Hurdles Freya Eaton won her race in 12.84, Yolanda Nicholson won the 100m in 12.58 with Brandy Funderburk 12.96 in third place. Codie Burnett was strides ahead  in winning the 300m 43.57 and in the field events Yolanda Nicholson made it two wins in the long jump 4.69 with Codie Burnett second 4.64. Emma Seymour won her Discus 24.90 while in the Javelin Kitty Brockbank was 2nd with a throw of 23.71</p>
<p>In the under 15s Selina Jones was 2nd in the 70m hurdles 13.36, Sarah Saunders matched the placing in the 100m 13.4, while Millie Calkin won the 200m 27.79. In the 800 Georgina Bradford came 2nd with 2.31.5 and Chloe Scaplehorn third place 2.36.7. In the longer distance the 1500m Yaz Ryder won this with 5.02.8 and Ryder came 2nd in the High jump 1.30. Leah Beechey won the Shot with 8.82 and Izzy McHattie won the Javelin with 36.26 which was the English Schools Qualifying distance.</p>
<p>For the Boys Ben Crook won the 75m Hurdles 13.2, Josh Willock also won the 200m with 24.2, Nathan Gillis controlled the 1500m with a win in 4.44.8 with Tom Uden in second place 4.50.6, and he matched that in the high jump 1.50. Iin the long jump Josh Willock made it two wins with 5.22 and in the Throws Max Lambourne came 2nd in the Discus 26.48, Haydon Pike won the Javelin 33.42.</p>
<p>In the u17 mens age group Jack Hatton won the 100m hurdles 13.35 with Matt Davies second 14.26. Sam Randall took full control of his 400 to win with 53.54 with Kieran Tate second 56.41, then came third in the long jump 5.34. Chris George won the Shot with 10.65 and Luke Angell added a win in the Javelin 45.67</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Team Kennet had 2 athletes representing Park House School at the Boys Yell League on Thursday 28<sup>th</sup> April. This league is correctly officiated with starter, marksmen and timekeepers. The ever improving Luke Angell threw 41.53 metres winning the U/16 javelin by 6 metres from his nearest competitor. With the absence of any hurdles races on the day, Jack Hatton ran his first flat sprint race since his Wessex League debut as an U/11. He won the U/16 100m in an excellent 11.5 secs.</p>
