Southern Athletics League

Team Kennet were in action in the Southern Athletics League on Sunday in Division 3 West, using it as a Development league this year they faired very well in the match and produced some excellent performances.

Best result of the day came in the Mens Javelin where Ben East threw a massive 66.68m and Luke Angell throwing 61.48 for a great double win, East moving up to UK number 2 in the under 20 rankings and Breaking the clubs under 20 Javelin record. There was another Double win in the Mens High Jump, with Euan Avery clearing 1.70 and Harry Booker 1.60, good Points came in the mens Field specially in the throws, The Shot Oliver Ford throwing 10.48 for 2nd place in the A string and Harry Booker winning the B string 9.67.

The Discus Booker was 2nd A string throwing 32.04 and Seb Simpson won the B string 26.99, In the Hammer both Simpson and ford came 3rdplaces 26.40 and 19.96m.

George Down came 2nd in the Long Jump A string and Jon Simpson 2nd B string.

On the Track Avery clocked 12.2 for 4th place in the A string with Jon Simpson 3rd place as Vet 45 clocking 12.9, elsewhere in the mens Arthur lane came home 2nd in the 800m 2.11.5, he also came 4th in his 1500m, Casey Warwick came 4thin his 800m, and Mitch Poustie tackled 5000m for 4th place and 2000m steeplechase 3rd A.

Petra Kubesova made her debut on the track for the club in the 3000m and had to settle for 2ndplace with a time of 11.43.6 against winner GB athlete Lucy Elliott. Eve Brown came 2nd in her 1500m 5.20.8 and came 3rd in her 400m earlier in the day with 63.6. The Sprints Carly Chisholm came 4th A string in the 100m 14.1 and Amy Russell 14.3 same position in the B, Russell matched same position in the 200m. Cheryl Angell had a good day doing all four throws her best was the discus throwing 15.55 for 3rd place which she matched in the Hammer 16.09 and 4thin the Shot and Javelin B string as a vet 55.
