Team Kennet faired well in the fourth match of the Southern Athletics LeagueDiv 3 SW match held at Basingstoke, despite having only a small squad the club came 5th out of 6 teams in a extremely close match.
Hayley Steward was the best club athlete on the day she won the long jump 5.32 and triple jump 10.28 outright with personnel bests on both, she had to settle for 2nd place in the shot 10.68 and 4th in the Discus 19.20, her favorite event the 400m she earned herself another personnel best coming 3rd 60.8.
Wins were few and far but another came from Anna Montagne in the womens High jump she came in as everyone went out to win with 1.55, Georgina Thomson came 2nd on countback 1.28 in the B string.
On the Track Bethan Philp secured a 2nd A string in the 1500m steeplechase 5.55 and G. Thomson took a B string win 6.17, Thomson kept her busy day by securing another 2nd in the A string 400m hurdles 79.2, her twin sister Rebecca earned herself 2nd place in the B string 800m 2.33.8 and the 1500m 5.44.
Caitlin Nowell added a third in the B string 400m 66.5 in the sprints Faye Saunderson came 5th in the 100m 13.4 and 3rd B string in the 200m 26.7, Amy Russell came 4th in the B 100m 13.5 and Montagne 4th A in the 200m 27.4, earlier she came 2nd in the A string Javelin.
Oliver Bazin was the mens best athlete he came 2nd in the A string Long Jump 5.97 and 3rd in the Triple Jump 11.83, other top 3 performances came from Nick Bull in the B string High Jump 1.38 and Dan Collis B string Triple Jump, Collis came 5th in the 3k steeplechase 11.22.8 and Mitch Poustie taking 3rd B string.
