Team Kennet were in action in the second round of the Wessex Young Athletes Track & Field League on Sunday held at a Scorching Portsmouth Mount Batten Centre.
it was a close match for both the Host club and yellow vests of Team Kennet, matching each other throughout the day and ending in a tie on the day

Ben East added another Record to his name as he took the under 15 boys League Javelin record, winning the event with a 61.96 throw. The Boys age group finishing second on the day, The Throws were exceptional, from the club, a joint win came in the shot Oliver Gregory throwing 12.27 to break the clubs record and with Harry Booker throwing 12.01 both making the top UK top 20 Rankings, Both teamed up again in the Discus to make it another Double win Booker throwing 42.31 and Oliver Gregory 35.15 again both boys making the top 30 UK Rankings.
The long Jump saw Booker leap 4.98 for third place and Newcomer Freddie Boyle taking 2nd place in the B string. Kian Hockaday took 2nd place in the B string Javelin.
On the Track the best came in the 4 x 100m Relay, Gregory, Booker, East and Matthew Jones coming home for a fantstic win in 50.6, elsewhere on the track Boyle took a good second in the 80m hurdles, Harry Davis won the B string 300m.
The under 17 men won their age group, oliver Bazin clocking 12.7 for 5th A string in the 100m, and tom Hills winning the B string 12.8, both teaming up in the 200m coming 2nd places with Bazin 24.7 and Hills 25.3.
Stuart Bladon (54.3) and Cameron Langley both won their strings of the 400m.
the 800m races Cameron Langley came 2nd and Toby Thomas winning the B string. Thomas also won the 1500m with 5.00.3
The relay quartet had to settle for second in a photo finish in a time of 49.8
in the Field Bladon 5.65 and Bazin 5.55 both won their strings of the Long Jump.
The under 17 Women also won their match, Pheobe hoaen winning her Javelin with a throw of 38.36 to put her in the top UK top 20 Rankings, in the Shot Ellie Armstrong came 2nd with 10.11 and Hoaen taking a B String win 9.21, Hoaen had to settle for second in the Discus 20.15
A double win came in the high jump from Armstrong and Bethan Philp. on the track, Philp secured two more wins in the 800m and 1500m, in the shorter distances Anna Montagne pulled away in the 300m to win in 42.5 and Caitlin Nowell taking 2nd B string, Montagne had to settle for 2nd place in the 200m 27.0 and Nowell 3rd B string 30.3.
the 4 x100m relay team comprising of Armstrong, Hoaen, Nowell and Montagne came 2nd in 55.5
The under 13 girls came 2nd in their match, Lottie Absolom was the girls outstanding athlete as she broke the clubs high jump record and winning the event with a leap of 1.47m, taking her to Uk Number 6. Her day continued by winning both B strings in the Discus 17.16 and 70m hurdles 13.2
Annabel Todd also had a successful day winning the 800m in 2.31 but taking 2nd in the Long Jump and 3rd in the Discus 18.39 A string.
Tara Hogan won her B string 800m in 2.41, in the longer 1200m both Eve Brown and Alanna Smith took second places in their strings.
The relay quartet came home in 3rd place.
The under 15 Girls came 2nd in their match, in the sprints Izzy Kerslake came within a whisker to take 2nd place in the 100m 13.5 and Lucy Bennet taking 3rd B string 14.0, in the 200m Francesca young took 2nd place 27.6 and Ellie Kerslake 2nd place as well 29.4, the club had several non scorers in the 200m Lucy Bennet clocking 29.1 and Amy Russell 29.6, Ella Ward 30.2.
the 300m both Young and Georgina Thomson had to settle for 3rd places. in the longer distances G. Thomson was the best scorer winning her B string 1500m.
The relay quartet came home in 2nd place in 55.0
On the field Sophie Wheadon took 2nd place in the Shot 10.00, she won the discus with a 30.80 throw to push her in the top 30 UK rankings, and taking 2nd place in the javelin.
Poppy Bladon took second places in the B string Javelin and Discus.
The under 13 boys came 3rd in their age group, the day started well with a great Double win in the 75m Hurdles Thomas Woodrow 16.1 and George Mackie 16.3, Mackie adding a 2nd place in the High Jump 1.25.
the 800m saw good points from the club Toby Clark taking 2nd place and a brilliant run by Noah Kemp to win the B string, later on he went on to win the Discus, with Oliver Absolom taking 2nd in the B string, steady points came in from rest of the boys Ben Fisher, Seb simpson and Kian D Arcy Mastures.
