SAL Match 2

Team Kennet took part in the Southern Athletics League Div 3 SW at Poole on Sunday, In Soring Temperatures and Light winds set up a tough match for all four teams, with many club athletes away at Wembly in was going hard work.

The Yellow Vests worked very hard for their second place which saw 20 wins on the day.

Hayley Steward had a great match securing 3 A string wins, firstly in the Shot with 10.13, less than an hour later she took a superb win in the 400m with 63.8, then later on winning the Triple jump 9.66. Anna Montagne also took 3 wins in her A strings, firstly in the Long Jump with 4.96, then did the sprint double 100m 13.2 and 200m 27.3. Bethan Philp made it another A string win in the 1500m Steeplechase in 5.57.5.

There were a few B string wins on the day Caitlin Nowell coming back from injury timed her 400m to perfection to win in 68.2, in the middle distance races Rosa Lawrence won the 800m B 2.43.8 and 1500m Georgina Bradford won the B string with a sprint finish in just over 6 minutes, in the Field Charlotte Booker won the B string discus 23.41 and Deborah Montgomery won the B string Javelin 24.10. Anais Taank won the B string Triple Jump 8.69m. The other win came in the 4 x100m relay in a time of 54.9
there were some good performances in the ladies Pheobe Hoaen making her debut in the league throwing the Javelin 31.42 to finish 3rd A string, Booker throwing the Hammer 30.11 for 3rd place in the A string.

The Mens section a double win came in the Triple Jump with Joe Osler leaping 12.33 and Josh Willock 11.93, other wins came from team manager Nick Bull taking 3 B string wins in the 400m hurdles, 3000m and 3000m Steeplechase, and Simon Hockaday won the 3000m A string.
Josh Willock had to settle for two second places in the sprints as he clocked fast times of 11.5 in the 100m and 23.5 in the 200m, Joe Osler cleared 1.85 in the High Jump for 2nd place in a tightly contested competition, and taking the same spot in the B string Long Jump, Willock having to settle for 4th place with 5.90 in the A string again in a tough long jump competition.
