Wessex League Match 4

Team Kennet took a convincing win at Andover on Sunday in the Wessex

Young Athletes League which took them to second place in the league to finish the season as runners up.

It was Under 15 Ben East that stole the clubs highlights as he threw a massive 51.55 in the Javelin to win and to break his own Club Record for the fourth time this year, team mate Jack Cannons stepped in to throw 30.41 to win the B string, Harry Booker and Oliver Gregory made it another Double win in the Discus 36.04 and 30.78, and the two pored up again to hit another Double in the Shot 10.84 (Booker) and 10.68 (Gregory), East made it another win in the B string High Jump and Booker settling for 3rd A both clearing 1.45. Oliver Bazin jumped a best in the long jump for 2nd place 5.47, later he secured he brilliant well timed win in the 300m 43.4, in the shorter 200m he came 2nd 26.1 with Cannons taking 2nd place 25.80, the 100m cannons clocked a fast 12.4 for 3rd place and Gregory winning the B string 12.7, the 1500m was a great affair new comer Luca Vicaria came 5th in 4.56.9 and Josh Sells same position in the B string. Cameron Langley gained good points in his events.
The 4x100m team came 2nd with 51.5 (booker/Bazin/Cannons/Gregory)
The Boys also went on to win their age group.

A age group win in the under 17 lifted the boys to runners up in their age group overall, not soo many wins on the day, Zach Montgomery won his Shot 11.84, Stuart Bladon had to settle for 1.75 for 2nd place in the high Jump and Ben Armstrong took a B string win 1.60, he also came 3rd in the long jump 5.14 and Ryan Cannons cleared 5.10 for a b string win.
Bladon started the day in the 100m hurdles coming an excellent 2nd place 14.4. Daniel Hockaday added points to the team in the 100m 12.2 and 200m 24.2 (4th)

A great win came from the under 15 girls and they beat their age group leaders, Anna Montagne starting to show her talent in the sprints got a superb start to win the 100m 13.2 with Ellie Kerslake winning the B string 13.5 and credit to Izzy Kerslake non scoring clocking 13.7. The longer 200m Montagne made it another win with 27.0 and Chloe Collins clocking 29.3 for 4th place. Two second places followed in the 300m Anna Pettit 45.2 and Georgina Thomson 51.1, wins came in thick and fast in the middle distance races the 800m Lucy Wells clocking 2.27.3 and Georgina Thomson 2.42.4 for 2nd place, while in the 1500m Anna Pettit took the second right on the line 5.19 and Bethan Philp winning the B string 5.19.5
The relay team Amy Russell/Collins/E.Kerslake/Montagne came 2nd 54.8.
Out on the field a double win came from the Discus Sophie Wheadon 22.66 and Pheobe hoaen 21.70, Hoaen had to settle for 2nd place in the Javelin 33.00 but Wheadon took the B string win 22.46 by a few cm. Ellie Armstrong came 2nd in the Shot 9.49 but Wheadon going one better for a win in the B string 8.79. The Jumps saw good points as well, Armstrong coming 2nd in the A string 1.35 which was matched by Pettit in the B string but coming first, the Long Jump Montagne lept 4.80 for 2nd place which was matched by Russell in the B string.

The under 17 women took a win on the day the 200m saw a Double win holly Donohoe 28.2 and Tanya Yeates 32.9, Yeates coming second in the 100m. The sprint hurdles Kira angell ran a fast 13.1 for second place, Yeates taking the B string 15.4.
The 300m Holly Donohoe came 4th 45.6 and a great win came from Izzy Hole 47.5, in the longer 800/1500 races Hole came 2nd in the 800m and3rd in the 1500m 5.10.6. Another Double win came in the Discus with Charlotte Booker 21.83 and Dominika Humphrey 16.17, the Shot saw a third place from Booker 7.17 and 2nd place from Humphrey 6.54 in the B string while in the Javelin Angell came third 25.78 and Humphrey 2nd B
The jumps faired well Angell coming 2nd 1.45 in the Long Jump third place from Donohoe and a B win for Booker. The Relay Quartet of angell, Donohoe, Yeates and hole came home in first place right on the line.

Oliver Ford another talented thrower won his Shot with 9m and Oliver Humphrey taking 2nd place in the B string, in the under 13 boys the discus Ford came 2nd 23.43 and a good win in the B string from Ollie Absolom 15.79 but the best came in the Javelin with a Double win Kian Hockaday 36.05 and Ford 28.81, The high Jump secured another Double win with Gabriel Warley 1.41 and Matthew Jones 1.35 Humphrey came 3rd in the Long Jump with Absolom taking 4th B string. On the track best came in the 100m Warley and Jones coming 3rd places 14.1 and 15.0, George Mackie picking up a 2nd place B string in the 800m.
The under 13 girls are struggling this year, but finished third on the day gave them the boost they needed, best result came in the 1200m both Emily Tucker and Lottie Absolom coming 2nd.
Annelise Gale winning the B string 800m. In the field shot Absolom came 3rd place with Aimee Dickson taking 2nd place, Georgina Pasmore picked up the only field win of the day in the B string Discus 12.85
Lucy Bennet was the under 13 clubs best on the day, she took full control to win the 100m 13.8 and later went on to come 2nd in the 200m 29.1
