Team Kennet athletes were in action in the Oxford League Cross country held near by at Harwell on Sunday.
The under 15 girls made a big impact on trying to win the under age group by winning their age group putting them just 8pts behind leaders Oxford City, Lucy Wells was 3rd place and securing a top 3 individual finish at end of the season for the Yellow vests with Izzy Hole just a few seconds behind in 4th and with Bethan Philp 9th won the age group by 1 point.
In the under 17 age group Emily Faulkner ran superbly to finish 3rd place moving her to 4th overall in her age group and Rosa Lawrence came in 8th.
The under 13 girls team were second as they have been all season, missing their big gun Molly, it was down to the twins to battle it out for the clubs top spot, only a few seconds separated them with Georgina Thomson 8th and Rebecca Thomson 9th, Annelise Gale having another good run in 13th. the second team made up of Lily Darcy-Masters 21st, Emily Tucker 27th and Pippa Thomas 30th came 8th but holds 6th place overall, Lucia Allen was the other club runner 35th.
The Senior Ladies had a good turn out with Helen Preedy coming home in 20th, Sue Francis 26th and sue Enhard 38th for 4th place team on the day, Kirsty Reede was next home 45th and Philomena Mburu 86th. The Men’s team moved up to fourth in their Divison 3 match with Chris Hall first home in the club 70th, Chris Turner 79th, Gavin McLaughlin 86th, Darren James 134th, Dean Makar 138th, Richard Bickerton 174th, Simon Gale 235th, Colin Price 236th, Chris Treacher 244th
The under 15 boys James McLaughlin finished 6th with Cameron Langley 12th and Ryan Cannons 14th for 4th place team, Jack Cannons was next home in 15th and Toby Thomas 16th while in the joint race with under 17s Bradley Thomas came home an excellent 5th place. Sam Campbell was the clubs only under 13 boy finishing 24th
In the younger age groups there were two 8th places in the under 11s, firstly the girls race Kirsten Fraser later in the boys Toby Clark, while in the under 9 section Zoe Allen kept her form to come home in 5th place only a few seconds of the winner and Emma Davies just behind in 6th place, and in the boys Lucas Mercer was 11th
