Team Kennet took part in their last league match of the season, the Oxford Junior Track and Field League, being Held at Horspath in Oxford The Yellow vests dominated the Field events to finish 2nd place on the day.
In the u13 age groups, the boys only dropped a few points on the field, Double wins came from Ben East 44.06 and Kian Hockaday 18.91 in the Javelin, Harry booker 33.13 and Oliver Gregory 22.30 in the Discus and both in the Shot Booker 11.01 and Gregory 9.66, in the Long Jump a Double win came from Booker his third straight win 4.19 and Thomas Joyce 4.15, Matt Jones had to settle for 3rd place in the high Jump 1.20.
On the Track Gregory won the 200m in 29.2 and the only other track win came from the 4x100m team of Hockaday/Gregory/East and Jones clocking 58.78
The Girls section saw a double win from the Discus with Sophie Wheadon 24.08 and poppy Bladon 18.63, Wheadon made it another win in the Javelin 21.32 with Bladon 5th. The shot produced a good competition with Chloe Collins taking 2nd place 6.79 and Emily Tucker 4th 5.06, in the jumps, Wheadon cleared 1.25 in the high Jump for 2nd place with Bladon 3rd B string, on the Track Izzy Kerslake came 2nd in both her 100m 14.1 and 200m 29.3 while in the B strings Collins took a win 14.4 and Eleanor Kerslake 2nd B 31.4, the longer 800m Annalise Gale was 5th 2.54 which was matched in the B string with Lily D Arcy-Masters taking 2nd place.
The 4x100m team of both Kerslakes, Collins and Wheadon just ran out of space closing down fast to take 2nd place 59.92
The under 15 age groups faired well with some very good performances, in the Girls section Phoebe Hoaen won the Javelin 28.39, while in the discus she took a B string win 17.18 while Maddi Barnes took 3rd in the A string 25.27, The Shot Barnes went one better for 2nd place 8.55 and a win in the B string by Ellie Armstrong 7.63, on the Track Lucy Wells took full control to win the 1500m 5.13.8, Anna montagne fast improving to her new sprint coach won the 200m 28.9. 2nd in the 300m and 3rd in the 100m 13.7
The Boys section went better to win their age group Daniel Hockaday won the 300m with 40.1 and team mate Jack Cannons 2nd B string 46.3, the shorter sprints Hockaday had to settle for 2nd in the 100m 12.8 and 3rd in the 200m 25.6 while in the B strings Zack Montgomery won the B string in the 100m 12.5 and 3rd in the 200m 26.9
The 800m Cannons took full control to win in a tactical race 2.23 with Cameron Langley 2nd B string. Josh Sells came 3rd in the 1500m
Stuart Bladon had a good day winning the 80m hurdles12.5 and helped the 4 x 100m relay team to 2nd place 51.88 with team mates Jack Cannons, Hockaday and montgomery.
The field events secured high points a Double win came in the Shot Montgomery 10.26 and Oliver Bazin 7.41, the high Jump Bladon cleared 1.70 and Ryan Cannons 1.45, Jack Cannons coming 3rd in the Javelin 28.32, in the Long Jump R. Cannons taking 3d place 4.84 and Langley 5th 3.98
In the under 17 age groups Bradley Thomas came 3rd in his two events 1500m and 400m, and Dominic De Monte taking 3rd in the 100m and Shot, The women section Charlotte Booker dominated the throws winning the Shot 6.53 and Discus 21.47 and rosa Lawrence taking 2nd places in both the 800m and 1500m races.
In the Under 9 quadkids event, Zoe Allen and Octavia Thomas finished 2nd and 3rd overall for the girls with 144 and 138 points. Henry Walters was 5th overall for the boys with 153 points. In the Under 11s, Archie Thomas was the overall winner with 238 points with Connor Jpyce scoring 207 while for the girls, Aimee Dickson was 3rd overall with 209 with Tara Hogan with 171 Points.
