Team Kennet Juniors came within a Whisker of winning the second match of the Wessex Junior Track and Field League on Sunday held at Salisbury in Scorching Temperatures, now placing them second in the Division

The day’s highlight came from the under 13 boys, Harry Booker smashing two League records on the day and winning both events firstly in the Shot throwing a huge 11.36m to move to UK number 2 and further his club record as well, later in the day he also smashed his own club Discus record and the League Record to an amazing 34.83m taking him to UK number 1, his team mate and throwing partner Oliver Gregory won both his B strings, in the Shot threw a massive 9.59 to go UK number 7, and in the Discus 20.09. In the Javelin Ben East currently UK number 1 threw 38.75 to take another win and Booker made sure of a clean sweep in the throws in the B string 26.57. Another win came in the 4 x 100m with Matt Jones, Booker, East, Gregory clocking 56.40 setting another new club record. In the high jump East could only clear 1.35 for 3rd place and Jones 1.20 earned a 2nd place, while on the track Gregory was the best of the track in the 200m 28.8 for 3rd place, with Harry Davis matching the placing 32.7

Stuart Bladon increased his Club Record in the under 15 boys High Jump and getting a English Schools qualifying Height of 1.78 for a great win.
On the track a superb Double came from Bladon in the 300m 41.8 and Daniel Hockaday 40.4 with both going under the club record, Cameron Langley earned a second place in the B string 800m 2.38, later went on to win the B string Long Jump.

The under 17 age group saw tough opposition in the High Jump Ben Armstrong cleared 1.60 for 4th place while a 2nd place in the B came from Josh Livingstone 1.55, James Hills came 2nd in the Shot 10.64 and a B string win from Dominic De Monte 8.42. Hills added another win in the Discus 31.90. On the track two 2nd places came from Rupert Uttley and Bradley Thomas in the 800m

The 13 girls secured a lot of wins on the Field in the Discus Sophie Wheadon threw 24.64 and Emma Drake 13.54 for a Double with non Scorer Poppy Bladon throwing a 18.63 m, Wheadon later went on to win the Javelin with a 21.14 throw. Both TK girls in the Shot came 2nd places Chloe Collins 6.35 and Emily Tucker 5.25 on the track Isobel Kerslake sprinted to victory in the 100m 14.1 with twin sister Eleanor in a close battle for 2nd 14.9 the 200m Isobel Kerslake came 2nd 30.3 with Chloe Collins slipping back to 4th 32.1
The longer distance races new comer Sophie Cheeseman came home in 2nd place 2.39.1 and Annelise Gale matching this in the B string 2.45.2, both the Thomson Twins Rebecca and Georgina struggled in the 1200m both clocking 4.26

The under 15 girls Lucy Wells stole their high lights as she won the 1500m by some 160m in 5.05.7 another win came in the B string 300m with Anna Montagne and Anne Petiit came close in the 800m to take 2nd place 2.32.1, Lucy west came 2nd in the B string 75m Hurdles 14.9 with Kira Angell clocking a fast 13.1 for only 4th
Millie Quaintance came 2nd in the Long Jump, this was matched by Angell in the B string High Jump, but it was the throws that scored high again, a Double win in the Shot Mia Eldridge throwing 10.66 and Helana Armstrong 7.54, another Double in the Javelin Quaintance throwing 33.59 and Phoebe Hoaen 23.84, in the Discus Eldridge took another win with 23.10 and Hoaen 2nd 12.35

Olivia Buchanan surprised all by clearing 1.55 in the under 17 women’s high jump to win with Susie Drake 1.30 for 2nd B string, The Discus secured a Double win Charlotte Booker 23.03 and Dominika Humphreys 15.06, in the Shot Booker came 3rd 7.73 and Humphreys 2nd 6.89. On the Track, Holly Donohoe secured the only track A String win in the 300m 43.9 with Rosa Lawrence 2nd B. The 800m Donohoe ran 2.29.8 for 2nd place with Lawrence 3rd B string 2.47 and in the longer 1500m Lawrence came 2nd and a B win from Drake. In the 200m Buchanan came 5th 30.6 and Drake 3rd 31.4

All the Relay teams except under 13 boys came home in 3rd place
