SAL Match 3

Team Kennet came third in the third round of the Southern Athletics League held at Guildford at the weekend, but saw some outstanding performances by some of its clubs athletes

The day started well as Yellow Vests took an early lead in the match, the men’s High Jump saw Joe Osler produce a personnel best of 1.80 to win the event and Josh Livingstone clearing 1.65 to come 2nd in the B string,  The 4oom Hurdles races saw Rachel Bladon come home in 2nd place, while in the mens Another win came from Samuel Randall  winning in 61.4 and Nick Bull taking 2nd place in the B string.

Back on the field Holly Donohoe came a well deserved 2nd place in the long jump with 4.27, and in the mens Shot Steve McClean throwing 9.40 could only manage 4th place and Matt Hunters 8.45 was only good enough for 3rd place in the B string, both teamed up for the Hammer coming 4th places while in the Ladies Charlotte Booker came 3rd

The 800m races were next up on the track Susie Drake coming 4th and Rhea Walter 3rd B string in the mens Alex Hanson drew clear of the field over the last 200m to win in 2.01.7 and Alex Colston coming 2nd in the B string. The Sprints didn’t fair well, Osler and Ben Armstrong could only pick up 4th and 3rd places and in the Women’s Olivia Buchanan and Bladon came 4th in each race.

Back on the field Osler made it another win in the Triple Jump 12.45 with Hanson taking 3rd B string. The Womens Shot Deborah Montgomery came 3rd 7.43 and Charlotte Booker 3rd, the Discus Booker came 4th A string 21.98 and Montgomery 2nd B string 21.78, the Javelin Montgomery came 3rd 22.99 and Dominika Humphrey 3rd B

The Mens Javelin saw a double win Luke Angell throwing 53.07 and Matt Hunter a personnel best of 39.67

The mens 5000m Hanson came 2nd with 16.37.9 and debut runner Chris Turner taking 3rd B string 17.42.7, the Womens 3km Rosa Lawrence came 4th 12.35.8

The 200m races again were tough Randall 3rd A with 23.9 and Hunter 3rd B  in the Womens Donohoe taking 3rd in a new personnel best time of 27.5 and Buchanan 3rd B string, Both Drake and Lawrence could only get 3rd places in the 1500m while in the mens Hanson took 2nd in a fast 4.06.4 and Chris Turner 3rd B string.

The Womens 2000m steeplechase saw another double win Bladon winning in 8.29.4 and Rhea Walter clocking 8.49.1 while in the mens  2k Steeple Chase Bradley Thomas came 2nd 8.22.9 and Chris Turner winning the B string 8.28.8

The 400m races Holly Donohoe achieved another best time coming 2nd in 62.4 and a new age group club record vet 45 for Rachel Bladon 2nd B string 67.1

The Womens High Jump swcured two 2nd places from Olivia Buchanan 1.45 and Susie Drake 1.25, the womens relay teams both came home in 3rd places and in the Mens 4 x 100m coming home in 2nd place and the longer 4x400m 4th place
