Oxford Mail XC Round 4

Team Kennet athletes took part in the Fourth Round of the Oxford Mail Cross Country on Sunday at Cirencester Park, After the Heavy Rains and Winds from the previous day, it was going to be a muddy course, James McLaughlin took full control of this coming home in 2nd place in the under 15 boys age group which guarantees  him a Silver individual medal with one match to go, the boys team came 5th on the day with good packing from Josh Livingstone 11th, Ryan Cannons 15th, Will Denham 16th and Bradley Thomas 17th.

In the under 13 girls anther good turn out saw the girls A team finish 2nd again and secured a Silver team prize, Lucy Wells stormed home with a strong finish for 5th place, Anna Pettit just behind in 6th and keeping her in Second overall  and an ever improving Rebecca Thomson 9th. The B team came 6th on the day led by Georgina Thomson 15th, Lucy Draper 20th and Phoebe Hoaen 24th and Lily Darcy-Masters was the other club runner in 26th

Rosa Lawrence growing in confidence produced her best run ever, coming home in 6th place in the under 15 girls, with Holly Donohoe 7th and Izzy Hole 8th they secured 2nd place on the day, giving them a chance of team medals at the end of the season. Effie Dollar came home in 15th place.

The Senior Ladies came 5th in Division 1, with Helen Preedy 18th, V45 Rachel Bladon 28th (4th overall), Sue Francis 30th (v45 2nd overall) and Georgina Bradford 44th (3rd u20)

The Senior Men were light on the grounds, but still came 6th in Division 2, Chris Hall best of the Yellow vests in 68th, Dean Makar 78th, Gavin McLaughlin 104th, Chris Thomson 168th, Kym Darcy-Masters 188th, Jonathon Phillips 197th, Colin Price 219th

In the youngest age groups Kian Hockaday produced his best run of the season finishing 5th, with Harry Davis 9th, Sammy Campbell 10th, Digby Riggall 14th, Matt Jones 15th, Finlay Davis 18th, Toby Clark 34th and Karl Smith 38th

The under 11 girls saw Annelise Gale 11th, Lucy Dollar 17th, Aimee Dickson 19th and Annabel Gibson 26th

The under 9s Ava Elverson came 14th (5th girl) Kian Darcy-masters 23td, Catherine Jones 24th and Joseph Hoaen 27th
