Team Kennet sent a few athletes to the Berkshire Cross Country Championships at Slough over the weekend, over a very wet and muddy course TK athletes excelled as the under 13 girls produced yet another superb set of performances, against all odds and well deserved Lucy Wells set of in mid pack and came through to take her first ever County title by a good 5 seconds, Her team mate Anna Pettit faded to the end but still came home in 6th place and both girls will be selected for the Berkshire team for the inter counties. Twins Rebecca Thomson 20th and Georgina Thomson 22nd made sure the team finished in 3rd place while Lucy Draper was next home in 23rd with Phoebe Hoaen 34th.
Sam Hart secured another bronze for the club in the under 15 boys race which is one of the strongest age groups around the county at the moment. He too will go to the inter counties as will James McLaughlin who finished in 6th place also having a great race. In other races, Rosa Lawrence came 24th in the under 15 girls, Cameron Langley was 26th in the under 13 boys and in the senior men’s race Daniel Hall came 15th, and Chris Turner came 15th in the vets age groups.
Daisy Tolhurst took part in the Hampshire Championships in the under 13 girls where she came 41st.
