Team Kennet athletes traveled to Ascot-under-Wychwood for the first round of the Oxford Mail Cross Country League on Sunday, travelling through thick fog they arrived at the venue in clear blue sky.
The under 13 girls produced the clubs best results of the day, Anna Pettit coming back to form after a lengthy time out came home in 3rd place just 5 seconds off the winner and with Lucy Wells 5th and Rebecca Thomson 16th, the team came 2nd on the day. Georgina Thomson 17th, Pippa Thomas 28th and Daisy Tolhurst 31st brought the B team home in 8th with Lily D’Arcy Masters was the other club runner in 43rd.
James McLaughlin led the under 15 boys home with a superb 3rd place, his team mates Will Denham 13th, Ryan Cannons 14th and Bradley Thomas 15th saw the team finish 5th.
Ava Elverson was the best of the much younger age groups as she came home in 2nd place in the u9 girls, Catherine Jones came 10th in the same race. Luca Miller came home in 7th in the u11 boys with Sammy Campbell 12th and Digby Riggall 17th best of the boys while in the Girls Aimee Dickson 17th, Tara Hogen 18th, Emily Tucker 19th and Abigail Horbon 20th the first of the TK girls
The under 13 boys race saw Toby Thomas first home in 16th place with team mate Jack Cannons 17th, Max Curtis came in 27th to bring the team home in 6th. Scott Richardson in 29th and Joshua Sells 30th were the two other members.
Holly Donohoe led the clubs under 15 girls home in 8th place with Izzy Hole in 9th and Rosa Lawrence 10th, Effie Dollar 25th to see the team finish 6th in the combined u15/17s,
On the senior front Helen Preedy came 22nd with Sue Francis 27th and Rachel Bladon 46th in the Ladies to finish 8th in Division 1 while the Men matched the same placing in Division 2 as Alex Hanson came 11th but 2nd place in the u20s, Lee Tolhurst came 27th with Dean Makar 119th, Chris Hall 142nd, Gavin McLaughlin 162nd, Justin Wells 175th, Jonathon Phillips 190th and Simon Hockaday 297th.
