BBO Cross Country

Team Kennet got into the mix of the medals at the Berks, Bucks and Oxford Cross Country Championships held at Horspath in Oxford over the Weekend.

Alex Hanson showed his class in the Junior Men’s race as he crossed the line as Champion taking his first ever major title. The under 15 boys carried on with their success with a third place team award, Sam Hart just missing out on another medal in 4th place, with team mate James McLaughlin just behind in 6th place with Stuart Bladon 20th. The B team came 10th overall and were led in by Bradley Thomas 34th, Ryan Cannons 36th and Rupert Uttley 40th.

The Under 13 girls saw the clubs biggest ever junior turn out in a Championship Cross Country with 12 athletes making up 4 scoring teams. Lucy Wells ran her best ever race and was just pipped close to the line for 4th place, with Anna Pettit 13th and Lucy Draper 24th the A team came 4th. The B team came 9th with Rebecca Thomson 25th followed by her sister Georgina 26th and Phoebe Hoaen 42nd. The other two teams were 13th and 16th and the girls were Annelise Gale 43rd, Pippa Thomas 49th, Daisy Tolhurst 50th, Emma McClure 55th, Lily Darcy-Masters 61st and Poppy Bladon 62nd

The under 13 boys found the going tough, Toby Thomas came in a creditable 26th, with Jack Cannons 27th, Cameron Langley 29th, Oliver Bazin 35th and Thomas Joyce 43rd. Izzy Hole came 35th and Rosa Lawrence 37th in the under 15 girls race.

The Senior Ladies started the races off on the day and it was Helen Preedy coming home in 24th with Rachel Bladon 31st. The Senior mens race saw the club home in 9th place with Gavin McLaughlin 67th, Chris Turner 69th, Chris Treacher 85th, Kym Darcy-Masters 90th and Chris Thomson 92nd
