Team Kennet rounded of to be their best ever Track and Field Season by being presented with the Trophies from the Oxford Junior Track and Field League by Chairperson of the League Annalise on top of this they took the major League Title the Wessex Young Athletes League which has 24 clubs taking part on the way beating big clubs like Southampton and Basingstoke, this is the Second time the Club has won Both Leagues and to do the Double before the Olympic year is a great credit to all the 40 coaching staff at Team Kennet.
The clubs trophy haul this year: Wessex Young Athletes League Champions, Oxfordshire Junior League Champions, and in the age groups under 9 boys and under 9 girls league winners, under 13 boys and under 13 girls League winners, under 15 girls and under 15 boys League winners and overall boys League winners.
The Club have also 8 Individual County Champions this year and some 27 club records were broken throughout the age groups which showed in the UK top 50 Rankings where 17 athletes made it into the top 50 best ever. The Highest placed athletes were Millie Quaintance UK number 2 in the Javelin for u13 girls and Rachel Bladon made it to UK number 1 in both the 1500m and 2000m Steeplechases as a vet 45 and still holds the UK All comers number 1 spot in both Distances.
The club has also had other clubs form the South come and visit how they run the age groups, and to take the programmes back to run in their own clubs to help build a stronger and more proactive Athletics session.
Team Kennet is Sponsored by Document House and Restaurant and is looking for another successful year next year as it will be the clubs 5th year with this company , all the sponsorship goes towards redevelopment in the club.
