Three Team Kennet athletes were in action as part of the Berkshire team in the Under 11 South-East Inter-county Sportshall competition at Burgess Hill on Sunday.
The boys team, including William Joseph and William Cox, won the event with 419 points, 5 points ahead of 2nd place Hampshire while the girls team, including Darcey Flemming, came 2nd scoring 424 points behind winners Jersey. Combining the girls and boys team scores, Berkshire were the clear overall winners.
The best individual performance came from Darcey who won the Standing Long Jump with a massive leap of 2.16m which also out jumped all the boys. In the other field events, William Cox came 8th in both the balance test and target throw, William Joseph came 14th in both Standing long jump and Target throw and Darcey came 16th in the Soft Javelin.
In the team based track events, William Joseph was in the winning Berkshire quartet for both the 4 by 1 Lap relay and the Grand Prix relay and also in the 2nd placed pair in the 2 by 2 Lap relay. Darcey was in the Berkshire 4 that came 3rd in the Hurdles relay and 4th in the obstacle relay while William Cox was in the 8th placed 4 in the Over-Under relay.
