Team Kennet members James McLaughlin, Sammy Hart, and new members Warwick Buckland, and Oliver Shakespeare were in action at the weekend at the first of four national schools biathlon semi-finals. This took place at the University of Bath on Sunday 22 January.
In the year 5 boys the best result came from James McLaughlin who was 5th overall, qualifying for the national final and receiving his trophy from Kate Allenby, bronze medalist in the modern pentathlon at Sydney. Warwick Buckland came 40 and Oliver Shakespeare was 42.
Sammy Hart came 10th in the year 6 boys, and hopefully will progress as well to the national final as one of the top 64 ranking competitors.
